Mount Tai is one of the five most famous mountains in China, located in Tai-an City, Shandong Province, and its main peak, Jade Emperor Summit, is 1514 meters above sea level.
Mount Tai has been revered by emperors as a religious center and sacred mountain for about 2,000 years, from Qin Shi Huangdi, Han Wu Di, Tang Taizong, and Song Taizu to the Ming and Qing Dynasties. Mount Tai is also the place where emperors held the “Seon Ceremony” to report the unification of the nation to the heavens, and the entire mountain is dotted with numerous shrines, temples, and palace buildings.It is also known as the “Blue Sky History Museum” because of the abundance of stone carvings and other cultural relics and historic sites left behind by many writers and artists. In the mountain, there are many old trees as well as famous historic sites such as Confucius Tengao Temple, Tai Lan, Puzhao Temple, Bixia Shrine Temple, Jade Emperor Summit, Sun Guan Peak, Moon Guan Peak, and Shi Hu Song Tao.The 9-kilometer long Mt. Taishan mountain climbing tourist trail is made of 6,293 stone steps. Currently, a ropeway is also in operation fromZhongtianmen to Nantianmen.The sunrise and sunset from the top of the mountain are very beautiful and attract many tourists every year.
泰山是中国五大名山之一，位于山东省泰安市，其主峰玉皇顶海拔1514米。
